We were very fortunate to have Melanie care for our son Fred one day a week from when he was 6 months old, for approximately 8 months.

Melanie was always warm, caring, kind, and incredibly trustworthy. Fred absolutely loved his days with her and was always happy, settled, and comfortable in her care. She brought a wonderful sense of calmness and security into our home, which was so important to us as parents.

Alongside caring for Fred, Melanie would also kindly assist with light household duties while he was sleeping, including washing and meal preparation, which was always greatly appreciated.

The only reason our arrangement with Melanie ended was because Fred transitioned into daycare. We were very sad to see her go.

I have previously recommended Melanie to other families and will continue to do so without hesitation. Any family would be very lucky to have her caring for their children.

It is an absolute pleasure to provide a reference for Mel. She has been an incredibly special part of our family, and I cannot speak highly enough of the care, professionalism, and support she provided.

From the very beginning, Mel consistently went above and beyond in every aspect of caring for our daughter. She took the time to help plan nutritious meals that were age-appropriate and thoughtfully introduced allergy-risk foods safely and responsibly, preparing separate containers for me to trial while I was present in case of an emergency. Her level of care, preparation, and attention to detail always gave me complete confidence.

Mel was exceptionally organised and reliable. She carefully documented important information in our daily planner, including when Panadol was administered, ensuring clear communication and peace of mind. She often purchased food for meal preparation and always prioritised meeting our daughter’s needs first before completing household tasks such as laundry and cleaning if time allowed. Packed away old/ small size clothing into containers with labels.

What stood out most was the noticeable difference in our daughter after spending time with Mel compared to her days at Kindy. She was calmer, more talkative, more engaged, and consistently slept better. Mel created an environment where our daughter felt secure, nurtured, and genuinely cared for.

Mel respected our routines while also thoughtfully sharing ideas and suggestions that could improve them, which I truly appreciated. She planned meaningful outings and always kept me informed throughout the day with messages and photos, making me feel connected and reassured while at work. Most importantly, she never made me feel guilty for working, something that meant more to me than words can express.

Mel has a wonderful ability to connect with children of all ages and even built a fantastic relationship with my teenager. She is warm, intuitive, trustworthy, and truly one of a kind.

Mel will always hold a special place in our family, and I recommend her wholeheartedly and without hesitation.
