I am an extremely motivated and highly skilled Children's Nurse, caring for children from birth to 18 years old. I strive to provide a high standard of care to every child and their family. I have spent the last five and a half years working at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London and during this time I have gained valuable skills and experiences, and above all; confidence. I am a cheerful, dedicated and enthusiastic person; I have a genuine passion for caring for children and young people, and I strive to obtain their friendship and trust. I am often described by my colleagues, friends, parents and children as friendly, helpful, professional and approachable. Working within a family environment effectively requires mutual respect and good working relationships. I have been praised by management and families for my ability to build rapport quickly with others and to gain their trust by being honest and respectful of diversity and beliefs. Studying and working in London has provided me with opportunities to meet and learn from individuals from many diverse cultures and backgrounds, which I have very much enjoyed. In addition to my nursing training, I also regularly volunteered at a local pre-school in the UK, and have previously worked as a long-term nanny for two young boys. Whilst working in Australia I have regularly babysat for a 6 year old girl and 7 year old boy, and would be happy to provide any references if required.
